Kalamunda and Freo Growers Markets 3rd&4th May 2014

Saturday 3rd May 2014:
Kalamunda Market, stall no. 157

Sunday 4th May 2014:
Growers Green Farmers Market, Beaconsfield (Freo)

Come along to the markets and find a handmade gift for mum!

Here an update of what I have been up to in the last weeks:

I made some fabric flower brooches with retro buttons. Just received my latest Mollie Makes Magazine yesterday and this flower was the added gift to make, of course I couldn't stop at just one.

I run out of bag dispensers a while ago and here are my latest ones.

These are little pouches with a zip and these are perfect to take all your cables and chargers when you go on a holiday. They are lined inside and the back of them are all polka dot red and white... how cute!

And finally something that is also suitable for boys (I always get asked if I have something for boys). These playmats are doublesided, one side is blackboard material for drawing and he backside is oilcloth so the kids can play with play-doh and the boy-version is a also great to play with cars.
The mat is easy to clean and so easy to roll  up and take along.

My new fabric for doorstops (still in the making).

This bag is screenprinted and has a little pocket inside. It turned out quite cute. The handles can be taken off for washing.

I am proud to announce that this is my first pincushion hakea flower in my garden. There should be many more to come if Libby doesn't get gardening again.

Talk about Libby, here some pictures of last weekend at the Swan River:

Now this dog knows how to have fun ;-)

Have a great weekend evrybody!

Markets this weekend and new dog bandanas

You can find me this weekend at the following markets:

Saturday, 5th April 2014 from 8am to 2pm:
Kalamunda Market, stall no. 157

Sunday, 6th April 2014 from 8am to 12pm:
Growers Green Farmers Market, Beaconsfield (Freo)

Here is a picture of Libby enjoying the last Kalamunda Market with a big bone from the doggy bone stall. She loved to come along and if she is a "good girl" she will come this weekend with me.

My friend Francesca bought Libby some dog accessories from a market in Adelaide. Libby and I loved it that much that I decided to make some dog bandanas for the markets. They come in 3 sizes (Libby wears medium).

They slide over the dog collar and are easy to take off and put in the washing machine.

Now that's what I call a stylish dog. Being so cute is very exhausting as you can see.

There is no rest for me, I am busy tonight and tomorrow night making some more doorstops.

I hope you can make it to one of the markets.
See you there.

Market Weekend coming up

It's my first market weekend since Christmas and I am busy again keeping up with making new stock.
Here  is  where you will find me this weekend:

Saturday 1st Feb.2014
Kalamunda Market, stall no. 157

Sunday 2nd Feb. 2014
Growers Green Farmers Market in Beaconsfield
Instead of racing around supermarkets and giant shopping malls, bring the family and spend a lazy morning in the shade under the trees and enjoy some live music, hot food, fair-trade coffee, fresh juices and do the weekly grocery shop, why not?
Freo muso Nick Turner will be there playing some of your favourite tunes.

And here is some of my latest work:

Don't forget it's Valentines soon... and I made some cute cards.

Who doesn't love a moustache?

And last but not least some more iPad cushions for all you good boys and girls out there that got an iPad from Santa ;-)

Hope to see  you at the markets,
Caroline

IKEA TRENDIG 2013 skirt

This week at IKEA Perth we (finally) received the limited edition TRENDIG 2013 collection.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on the fabrics and yesterday I made this skirt:

I have the feeling that this won't be the last one I made ;-)

I am also thinking dress, Japanese Furoshiki bag, matching hairband, maybe a cover for a lamp shade.... lucky there is a long weekend coming up and I get an extra day off on Monday!

Happy New Year!

We hope you had all a good start to the new year. Libby and I (mostly me) are still recovering from a very busy market season.
This weekend is very hot here in Perth. Yesterday it was 43.3 degrees and today after a very early drive to the beach they said on the radio that is was already 41 degrees at  09.40am!
There is only one thing to do... cool down in the sea. And that's just what we did.
I am looking forward to the February markets (most likely 1st February in Kalamunda and 2nd February at the Growers Green Farmers Market in South Freo).
Wishing you all the best for 2014.

Caroline

My last market of this year is the one I am looking forward to the most.

Follow the twinkling lights and guiding Christmas star at the Perth Cultural Centre. There will be heaps of entertainment, a walk in Snow Dome with Santa (don't forget your camera), food stalls, live music and of course craft stalls.

So come along and join the Christmas fun!

The Light Up Leederville Carnival
Sunday 1 December 2013
12pm – 8pm
A FREE EVENT

A fantastic opportunity for the Leederville community and wider metropolitan Perth to visit, soak up and celebrate one of Perth’s great cultural assets - Leederville!

What to Bring?

The carnival will provide retro furniture, umbrellas and shade all around the precinct to soak up the action in comfort, but bring your hat and sunscreen!
A water bottle! We will have a 2000 liter water refill tank available near Oxford Park so bring a bottle and fill it for free.
Cash! There are limited ATMs and EFTPOS facilities in Leederville so we encourage people to bring cash on the day.
A light. Between 7.30 - 8.00pm the Leederville Lights will be ignited and we ask everyone to bring down a light of some sort to help us light up Leederville on the night. Get creative! Ideas have been glow in the dark balloons, stick torches…
How to get there?
Train and bus – Leederville Station is in the heart of Leederville, as there will be limited parking available on the day, we recommend people to travel via train.
