next Kalamunda Market: Saturday 8th January 2011

Firstly I want to wish you all a happy new year and I hope you had a relaxing time over Christmas.
2011 will be full of excitement and changes, lets get into it.
May I introduce you to Maureen McDoover. Maureen is made of my ever favorite orange pants (that luckily don't fit anymore) but I just couldn't throw them away. I knew that one day they will have a "life" again and when I found the book closet monsters (monsters made of clothes you don't wear anymore) my heart jumped. I had to make her (sorry Maureen is not for sale).

Another project of mine was to start sewing door stops. That was one of my 32457 ideas that hang around in my brain and finally I made some. Lucky me that I live close to a kid's playground... the sand there is just perfect ;-) If you see me sneaking down the street early in the morning with a plastic bag that looks heavy and full you know I will be sewing some more.

Of course I also made some more bags. Another book I bought was Amy Butler's style stiches (book of bags). As I have a few fab Amy Butler fabrics I want to start getting into this style a bit more.

I am still a big fan of babushka dolls and therefore I made some more bookmarks and cards for all those who share my passion for these little Russian ladies.
That's it for today. I have Friday morning off, its 6am and I better get into some more sewing as tomorrow the 1st Kalamunda Market will be held for 2011. The weather should be fine so come up to the hills and enjoy the market atmosphere. See you there! CaRoo
