Jacaranda Festival Applecross Saturday 24th November 2012

I am preparing for a busy Jacaranda Festival this Saturday. It will be my first time at the Festival in Applecross and I am very much looking forward to it.
So far I heard a lot of good feedbacks about the market and the weather should just  be perfect on the weekend.
Ian and Libby will most probably join me on Saturday and combine it with a swim near by in the Swan River.

Here a picture of my new Christmas stockings. As I am a new dog Mum I had to come up with some pet stocking this year (I made dog and cat stockings). Libby is all excited and is counting the sleeps until Christmas ;-))

Hope to see you at the Jacaranda Festival or on one of the other markets that I signed up:

OMG!!! I better keep calm and keep sewing!!!

I have been very keen lately on Mexican oilcloth and had so many ideas what I could do with it. Here some pictures of what I came up with so far, a blackboard for kids on the go (keep them busy in the car, in the restaurant or anywhere where it's "boring"), storage baskets that fit the IKEA Expedit bookcases,  funky peg bags that help make the job of washing enjoyable, lunch bags and small kids pocket money wallets.
I am sure I will come up with more shortly.

I have been sew sew busy the last few days and weeks and I am proud to show you my latest "pieces".

As it will be Libby's 1st Christmas this year I had to come up with something for her ;-) She doesn't mind the bell at all and it sounds like we have a little Swiss cow in the backyard. After Christmas the bell can be easily removed and the scarf looks just as good for the rest of the year.

Talking about dogs... there is now a funky way to take the poo bags on the walks. It clips with a hook to the lead and the little bag could also hold a few coins or a key. We never run out of poo bags again.

Talking about Christmas...These are my 2012 Christmas hangers. Can you tell my favorite color and pattern ;-) ?

Another way to use my many little pieces of fabric (that I just cannot throw out). Little pin cushions that are like mini cushions.

And of course some more doorstops as they always sell well.

Last winter I ordered plenty of new ribbons and finally I had the time to make some more pencil cases. They turned out very cute and I am sure it will be hard to make a choice with so many to choose from.

So that's it for now. Hope to see you at one of the markets.

Create your own woven sew on label

Ever wondered where I get my woven labels done?

Now it's easy to order your own. Just click the Namensbaender Link on my Homepage (it's a German Website but you can choose English language) and off you go! You can choose from plenty of colors and symbols and you can add up to 3 lines of text.

The possibilities are endless. They offer sew on labels, size labels, satin ribbons (perfect for weddings!) and Hotfix iron-onbead images.

Have a look and start to personalize your creations.

I just ordered another 500 labels this weekend.
I changed my layout, here is a sneak peak...

Hope you will like them as much as I do. Can't wait to get them, they will make my creations just that little bit cuter.

Lunch Bags and Owls

I finally managed to buy some more Mexican Oilcloth. Love them, especially the green one with the cherries.
My sister bought me a Bernina walkingfoot made from Teflon so I can sew plastics, it came handy so many times, thanks Nati!
Here is my latest creation, lunch bags with a matching keyring (the keyring is made from the corners that I have to cut off the bags and because I cannot throw something so good away I found a use for them and made keyrings out of it). The bags are lined with a cute cotton fabric.

Then it was time to make some more softies. I started with a nest full of owls. I wonder how long it takes them to fly off? I try to improve my design and these have a ribbon pompom around their eyes and 2 different sizes button eyes (and look very cute... that's a proud "mum" talking).
